NEWS RELEASE

THREE LONGTIME FRIENDS FROM MARIBEL, WI WIN THE 2005 FREE HOUSE GIVEAWAY RAFFLE

On December 21, 2005 David Shimon of Maribel, WI was randomly drawn as this year’s winner of the 2005 Free House or Cash Giveaway Raffle to benefit the March of Dimes in Wisconsin.   He and two of his best friends purchased the ticket together.

In a standing room only crowd at the beautiful custom-built house designed by Thomas J. Juza Custom Home and Design, Inc. and donated to the March of Dimes, David Shimon from Maribel, WI was picked as this year’s winner of the March of Dimes Raffle.  He purchased the ticket together with longtime friends Pat VanGroll and Jim VanGroll,  also of Maribel.   They will have their choice of the $685,000 home or $350,000 cash.  Dave woke up yesterday morning and saw the live broadcast from the house on WBAY-TV2 and thought to himself “I wonder who will win that house today?”  He doesn’t have to wonder any longer.  Shimon purchased the winning ticket a couple of weeks ago at Kroll’s West in Green Bay.   When he returned to Maribel, he asked his friends Pat & Jim if they wanted to go in on it with him. They agreed and the rest is history.  When Pat returned home from work yesterday, his wife delivered the good news.  “The first thing she said to me,” according to Pat, “was – I never thought hanging out with Dave Shimon would pay off.”  Their mood was very jovial last night when they visited the March of Dimes office in Green Bay. This is the second year in a row that the winning ticket was purchased at Kroll’s West, one of the many outlets throughout the state, which sold tickets this year.  An estimated 17,000 tickets were sold with all the proceeds supporting the March of Dimes in Wisconsin.

This is the second year that Thomas J. Juza Custom Home & Design, Inc., together with over 70 suppliers, has donated a house to the March of Dimes.  Media partners in Green Bay that joined forces to promote the “2005 Free House Giveaway” raffle were WBAY-TV, WIXX radio and Orde Advertising

March of Dimes wishes to thank all of its Volunteers, Sponsors, Tom & Michelle Juza, the staff at Thomas J. Juza Custom Home and Design Inc., the Suppliers & Subcontractors to this event, the ticket outlet locations and everyone who purchased a ticket to support the March of Dimes.  Without your help & generosity, this event could not be possible.
